POSITION TITLE:                   Computer Networking Specialist Instructor

BUILDING:                              Western Dakota Technical Institute

QUALIFICATIONS:                  Bachelor’s Degree preferred, AS/AAS Degree required in computer science, computer network administration or a closely-related field and at least three years work experience in network administration with CISCO experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience is necessary to perform the essential functions of the work.

BASIC FUNCTION:                  Plans and presents classroom and lab instruction on computer operating systems and networking components; develops software and hardware specifications, course materials and student assessment tools for assigned course; and assists in the development and monitoring of program budget, course scheduling and industry collaboration activities. Teach courses using a combination of face-to-face classroom and online techniques.  May be required to develop and teach distance education courses.  Work as a team player and function within a structured organizational setting are essential.

WORK YEAR:                         175 days

STARTING SALARY:              $23.05 per hour + benefits     

HOURS OF WORK:                7.5 hrs per day

POSITION TITLE:                 Administrative Assistant – (Academic Affairs)

BUILDING:                             Western Dakota Technical Institute (WDT)

QUALIFICATIONS:               Requires a High School Diploma, (an Associate’s Degree is preferred) and 3 years of relevant office support experience is required in Microsoft Office applications, recordkeeping and data entry. Must be able to work independently, have exceptional organizational skills and requires attention to detail. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the work.

BASIC FUNCTION:              The Administrative Assistant provides clerical and secretarial support to the Vice-President and Dean of Academic Affairs. Duties include producing course schedules and catalogs, distributing student surveys and compiling the results; providing word processing support in the preparation of curriculum materials; maintaining instructor’s files, schedule meetings, take committee minutes, and tracking and recording staff development expenses. Performs other duties as assigned. 

WORK YEAR:                       12 months

SALARY                                 Pay Grade 6, Step -1 ($11.37 per hour w/benefits

POSITION TITLE:                     Transportation Technology - Automotive Instructor

BUILDING:                                Western Dakota Technical Institute

QUALIFICATIONS:                    Minimum of an Associate’s Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree preferred, and at least three years of prior work experience in the automotive technology/industry; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the work are required. ASE Master Technician Certification required.

BASIC FUNCTION:                    To instruct students in the eight main divisions of automotive technology, including engine performance and automotive electronics. Instruction covers the direct requirements and training based upon the National Institute for Automotive Excellence certification.  

WORK YEAR:                           175 days (Normal School Year)

STARTING SALARY:                $23.05 per hour (plus benefits)

ASE Master Technician Certification required.

BASIC FUNCTION:                    Ability to provide effective instruction, including curriculum delivery and supervision of lab activities.  Such responsibilities will include further development, adaptation and delivery of existing industry based training curriculum, student assessment and advising.

POSITION TITLE:                     Collision Repair Instructor

BUILDING:                               Western Dakota Technical Institute

QUALIFICATIONS:                    A minimum of an Associate’s Degree or other two-year college of technical school certification or degree in collision repair technology, auto repair technology, or a closely related field, and at least three years work experience performing collision repair in an auto body repair shop; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the work.  ASE Certification in Collision Repair, Refinishing and Estimating is required.

BASIC FUNCTION:                    The Collision Repair Instructor will teach automotive collision repair coursework, including metal welding, basic metals, panel replacements and adjustments, SMC/fiberglass work, frames, unibody repair and paint techniques.
